Old Rose Flowers
Now is the time to remove old rose flowers. To do this you should select an outside leaf bud and cut just below the leaf bud on a 30-45 degree angle. If you leave excess stem tissue the stem will die and turn black, therefore it is vital to cut just below a leaf bud not below a flower bud. Pruning now will encourage your roses to bloom again within six weeks.

Landscape Watering
With temperatures in the eighties, the best time to water your grass and landscape is during the morning before it gets too hot. Ideally it should be completed by 11:00 am. It is also okay to water periodically in the evening during hot summer days.
