How To Plant Bareroot Roses

How to Plant Bareroot Roses

Navlet's Garden Centers have a wide selection of gorgeous bareroot roses now in stock, including the All-American Rose Society (AARS) winners, and the Jackson & Perkins Rose of the Year winner. Planting bare root trees and shrubs is fun and a great way to save money. The trick is knowing how to plant them properly. Here's a brief step-by-step guide; for more details on each step, talk to a Navlet's gardening professional.

Soak It & Dig It!
Soak the bareroots in a mixture of Navlet's Transplant Starter and water. While that is soaking, start digging a large planting hole.

Mix It!
Mix the soil from hole with Navlet's Super Compost Plus, GreenAll Sure Start, and polymer granules. If necessary, drive tree stakes into the bottom of the hole.

3     4   Step 4

Plant It!
Form a small mound of soil mix at the bottom of the hole and drape roots around it. Make sure the graft union or first bud set is above ground level.

Water It!
Fill hole 3/4 full with soil mix, water well, and wait for water to be absorbed. Then fill the remainder of the hole. If you are using tree stakes, be sure to tie-off plant.
