How to Plant a Bareroot Fruit Tree

Delicious homegrown fruit can be yours. Just follow the simple steps below, and start enjoying the "fruits" of your labor!

Dig It
While digging an 18”x18” hole, soak tree in a bucket of Transplant Solution and water. Amend back fill with one half native soil and one half NSCP.

Stake It
Drive a 6-foot stake into the center of the hole. Lie your shovel horizontally across the hole and mark with a black pen where it hits the stake.

Secure It
Secure tree to the stake with plastic tape. The top of the first root should be aligned with the black pen mark.

     

Water It
Backfill the hole. Build a basin. Use the solution from the bucket to water the tree.
