Beautiful Gardens... Always Start with Great Soil

The best gardens start with the best soil. Rich soil produces bountiful crops of vegetables and flowers. Navlet's very own organic soil amendments improve texture, soil drainage, and help plants develop healthy roots and strong stems. Here are some tips to keep your
garden at its healthiest:

  • Work Navlet's Planting Mix into the planting area to a depth of 4"-6" (1 cubic foot to 10 square feet).

  • Add GreenAll Sure Start for a pre-plant fertilizer. Follow instructions on the label for appropriate coverage. Note that row crops will have different rates than the mass planting beds and lawn areas.
  • Spread Navlet's NSCP over planting beds as a winter mulch. Rototill into the beds after the rainy season ends.

  • Chicken manure can also be used as mulch. However, most people prefer to wait until it can be worked into the soil. Some folks think chicken manure has a strong odor, but as Bert Bertolero used to say... "If you can’t smell it, it isn't working!"
